Bookkeeping, payroll tax and sales tax for wholesalers, traders & importers
A wholesale or trading company lives on customer balances and supplier terms. RazaPro keeps receivables and payables current, matches bank and card activity to invoices, and tracks sales tax and resale certificates, so the owner knows who owes what and where the business stands.
What wholesalers, traders & importers have to get right
Receivables decide cash flow
Sales are invoiced on terms, and payments arrive in pieces. An unreconciled receivables list means the owner does not know who is late.
Resale certificates and exempt sales
Sales to businesses that resell the goods are often exempt, but only when a valid certificate is on file. Missing paperwork can turn an exempt sale into a taxable one on audit.
Shipping across state lines
Selling into other states can create sales tax obligations once a threshold is passed, even with no office there. Sales are tracked by state so the owner can see where thresholds are approaching.
Import costs and wires
Freight, duties, customs-broker fees and international wires are paid in different forms and often months before goods are sold. They need to be coded consistently.

Sales tax
RazaPro calculates sales tax on taxable sales, checks exempt sales against resale certificates on file, and tracks sales by state. Registration in additional states is the owner’s decision with their CPA, and RazaPro supports the paperwork. The free nexus checker shows thresholds by state.
Payroll and payroll tax
Payroll for up to five employees in one state is in the standard scope. Warehouse staff and sales staff in more than one state need the extra states quoted.
Not included in the standard scope
- Inventory costing and physical counts (quoted separately)
- Customs filings and duty classification
- Multi-entity consolidation of related trading companies
- Collections and credit decisions
RazaPro does not prepare or file income tax returns or give tax advice. Tax decisions and signatures stay with the business and its CPA.

Frequently asked questions
How much does bookkeeping cost for a wholesale business?
Bookkeeping is $75 to $120 a month depending on transactions. Adding sales tax is $120 to $130, and payroll tax on top brings the complete plan to $150 to $170.
Can you track customer and vendor balances?
Yes. Receivables and payables are matched to payments each month, with an aging list so the owner sees what is outstanding.
Do you handle resale certificates?
Certificates are listed against exempt sales so gaps are visible. Collecting valid certificates remains the business’s responsibility.
Can you tell me when I owe sales tax in another state?
Sales are tracked by state, and the free nexus checker lists thresholds. When a state is approaching its threshold the owner and their CPA decide on registration.
